Schoolroom of nonconformist chapel. 1890 by Hine and Odgers of
Plymouth, contractors W. Broad; painting and glazing by Oke of
Launceston. Polychrome slatestone and other stone brought to
course; granite quoins, otherwise Polyphant stone dressings;
slate roof with coped front gable. Rectangular plan;
schoolroom over reading room. 2 storeys; symmetrical 1-window
(1st floor) range gable end facing street. Quatrefoil to gable
with finial and kneelers over 5-light transomed mullioned
window with original coloured glass to basket-arched lights
and king mullions flanking central lights over central
4-centred arch doorway with original diamond-panelled door and
blind overlight flanked by 2-light cross windows; stepped
hoodmould over. Rendered side walls with segmental-arched
openings with casements with glazing bars. INTERIOR: simple
plastered walls and ceilings; boarded dado and panelled doors;
stained glass memorial window by Fouracre to John Dingley.
