History

Memorial to Charles Heath (1761-1831), important local historian and antiquarian and sometime Mayor of Monmouth. He was a bookseller who had his house and shop in what is now Nos. 22 & 23 Agincourt Square (qv). One of the few memorials to survive the landscaping of the churchyard.

Exterior

Sandstone ashlar. Square base with top mould, set on two steps. Cube with chamfered corners. Central recessed circular panel with ballflowers. Quatrefoil containing brass panel inscribed to Charles Heath.

Included for its special historic interest close to the principal church in Monmouth.
