History

A C19 mile marker shown on the 1889 Ordnance Survey just S of its present position close to Llanbadarn Fawr Bridge. The milestone was moved to its present position when the bridge was replaced. Although it reads 21 miles to Newtown, the figure should be 24.

Exterior

A round-headed freestone mile marker re-set on a stone base. It is painted white with black-painted letters and is inscribed 'Builth 10 Miles' and 'Newtown 21'.

Listed for its special historic interest as one of a series of well-preserved milestones on the A483.
