Exterior

Road bridge over the Afon Banwy or Einion near its confluence with the River Vyrnwy. c.1877. Rock faced local stone with blue brick arches, rendered parapet. Three segmental arches of 5 half-brick rings rising from 2 water piers with rounded cutwaters, each rising to pyramidal stone tops above the springings. Round blue-brick cordon at the base of the parapet, which is capped with outward weathering stone copings, ending in rectangular coped piers. Abutments of rock faced ashlar with limestone cappings.

Reasons for Listing

Included as a competent and picturesque C19 bridge, and one of an important group which includes New Bridge Mechain and Pont-y-ffatri close by.
