History

Early C19. Cast iron, made by Turner Bros. Newtown.

Exterior

Two sides of a triangle facing the carriageway, with an inclined top surmounted by a semi-circular head. Inscription reading, on left "LLANFYLLIN 11M"; on right "ALBERBURY 5M"; and around head, "SHREWSBURY 14M". It has been reset against a house wall, approximately 30m W of its original position.

Reasons for Listing

A mile marker erected after the second Montgomeryshire Turnpike Act (1803) and one of the very few markers to survive on this road.
