Exterior

A late C18/early C19 Gothic folly of sandstone rubble. A 2-storey half-round tower with sham crenellated battlements and a blind cross- loop flanked by similar key loops to the upper section. Depressed- arched recess to lower section with decorative quatrefoil with square, open light above. Flanking round corner turrets with similar cross- loops, attached to the central tower by connecting sections of wall with depressed-arched openings with recessed squares above. There are string courses to the upper tower and turret sections and a continuous plain string course connecting each section. The turret to the R and the upper wall sections are ruined. The wall returns to the NE behind the L turret and terminates in a further, similar turret. Walls to dado height complete a rectangle behind the facade.

Reasons for Listing
