History

C17, timber framed

Exterior

3 unit lobby entry, central chimney regional house; with later C18 wing to S giving overall L shape.

2 storey box frame, square panelled. Weatherboarding to old range and brick W wall with stepped projecting brick stack. Steeply pitched old slate roof. Gabled storeyed porch, jettied to attic and 1st floor. E end forms parlour. Jettied attic on brackets. Lettering RB 1660 to collar and legend "NOT WE FROM KINGS BUT KINGS FROM US" in restored lettering to bressumer. Decorative panel with heraldic crest in form of phoenix(?) to centre (head missing). 3 light casement windows to 1st and ground floors. "Jacobean" style carved figures flank 1st floor window.
Corrugated iron lean-to along rear wall.

Later range box-framed, square panels. Timbers re-faced to E front, rear elevation replaced in brick.
Steep slate roofs, modern brick stack. Two 3 light casements to 1st floor; single similar window to ground floor with 2 light window to left. Modern porch at junction with parlour of earlier building.

The earlier house was in a derelict condition and unoccupied at time of inspection.

Interior

Earlier house - twin service rooms to W with adjoining hall. Twin axial, stop chamfered beams. Moulded doorhead. Parlour beyond chimney remains in use as part of later wing, twin axial beams.
Later wing - axial stop chamfered ceiling beams. C18, 12 panelled door to parlour. C18 turned baluster stair. Later C19 spandrels added to doorcases.
