History

The piers (and gates to the S pair) are probably contemporary with the C19 remodelling of the house, although they may represent the reconstruction of earlier features.

Exterior

The piers are brick, with stone cornices and heavy ball finials, and are short in proportion to their width, and to the size of the finials. Paired cast-iron gates with arrowhead finials and quatrefoil braces below the lock bar.

Reasons for Listing

Important components of the setting of the house at Glanhafren.
