Late C16 2-unit, lobby entry timber framed range. A rubble stone range at right angles appears to be of later date.
L-shaped house of 1 storey and attics. The N-S range is of random rubble stone, while the earlier E-W range is timber framed. All under new slate roofs, with 2 brick stacks, one to the centre of the timber framed range and the other at the N end of the stone range. Decorated red ridge tiles. The W front, the stone range and the gable end of the cross wing, have been rendered. There is a C20 rendered, pitched roofed porch in the centre of the front elevation, and a gabled attic dormer to the N. Small multi-pane wood casement windows, one to each storey of the gable end, and one in the attic dormer and another below. To the rear (E) of the stone range is a C20 masonry lean-to porch, with door and small multi-pane window. To its N is another gabled attic dormer with multi-pane window below.
The 2-unit box framed range consists of 3 rows of square panels on a blue brick plinth. The panels are infilled with render. The S elevation is 9 panels wide and has a gabled attic dormer in the centre with a jettied bressumer. Because the timber framing of the upper panels does not align with the framework below, it is possible that it and the gabled dormer are of a later date. There are 6 small multi-pane casement windows, each fitting into a panel in the middle row. There are 2 similar windows in the dormer. The E gable end is 5 panels wide, and has passing braces to the lower corners. Central inserted French windows with small multi-pane flanking windows. The gable has a collar with diagonal struts above. Below are 3 casement windows as on the S side.
No access to interior at time of inspection. Said to be wattle and daub inside.
Listed as a house of the C16, with well preserved timber framing, and retaining its historic character notwithstanding alterations to detail.
