History

Early-to-mid C19 house.

Exterior

Front wing facing Orchard Street is two storeys, three bays; cement render with end pilasters; stone plinth, and pilaster and slate roof with flanking stacks on ridge. On first floor, three 12-pane hornless sash windows. On ground floor, in each end bay, a tripartite sash window with glazing bars; capped pilasters, frieze and cornice. Doorway in centre bay with similar pilasters, frieze and cornice; panelled reveals, 6-panelled door and fanlight with diamond tracery. Right hand return with longrear wing; first a block with lower eaves; then a taller 3-storey wing, with timber gable facing SW; modern windows.

Reasons for Listing

Early-to-mid C19 house retaining its historic character on prominent corner site on one of principal roads leading into historic centre of Brecon.
