Description

Circa 1960. Single-storey and attic, 3-bay cottage with central door flanked by small, widely spaced windows with raised cills. Harled. Pair of flat-roof dormers.

Timber sash and case windows. Grey slate. Coped skews; skewputts to E gable end. End stacks with octagonal clay cans.

Statement of Interest

No 73 is a good example of mid 20th century conservation architecture, closely referencing the scale, form and treatment of the 18th and 19th century single-storey cottages and terraced rows that characterise the Broadsea township. With widely spaced window openings with timber frames, slate roof, coped skews and end stacks, this contextual addition contributes to the streetscape and to the wider Fraserburgh Conservation Area setting.

Historic Ordnance Survey maps show an earlier building occupying the site with its gable end fronting the road.
