John Burnett, 1868. Single storey and attic, L-plan gabled lodge. Pink sandstone and whinstone rubble with squared stugged and snecked cream sandstone to principal elevation (now partly rendered and lined), ashlar dressings. Base course; stop-chamfered arrises; overhanging bracketted eaves; bargeboarded gables.
E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: advanced gabled bay to right with tripartite window to right at ground, baluster column on ashlar base supporting left angle and forming porch in re-entrant angle, cable moulding to lintel. Flat-arched doorway, window to right in re-entrant angle. Continuous hoodmould raised to carved panel at centre of porch entrance and tripartite window. Window at centre of gable. Window at ground on return to right of advanced gabled bay. Window at centre of left wing.
N (SIDE) ELEVATION: attic window in gable. Decorative bargeboard with carved panel to gable apex.
S ELEVATION: window to right at ground, attic window to gable. Boarded windows. Grey slate roof; sandstone ashlar corniced stacks.
GATEPIERS: 4 square-plan ashlar piers with wide frieze below tall pyramidal caps; pedestrian entrance to left.
The lodge is in a dilapidated condition (1995). Kilmahew House was demolished in 1995 following fire damage. Saint Peter?s College is listed separately.
