War memorial for the dead of the First World War and Second World War, by an unknown designer.

MATERIAL: Forest of Dean stone set within a square paved area surrounded on the four corners by wooden posts. The lettering on the plinth is flush lead with enamel paint.

DESCRIPTION: The war memorial, Gothic in inspiration, is in the form of a large wheel cross with foliated ends, on an octagonal shaft, octagonal drum plinth and three octagonal steps. There is a grape and vine design where the base of the cross meets the top of the column. The plinth bears inscribed arched top tablets on all sides and is decorated with an inscribed flower motif. The principal inscription reads 'IN PROUD AND GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN FROM THE PARISH OF WALDRON WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR GOD, KING AND COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WARS 1914-1918 AND 1939-1945 THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE'. The original inscription has been modified to include those who died during the Second World War by adding 'S' to the end of 'WAR' and the dates '1939-1945' under the existing. A total of 54 names is listed on the remaining seven sides remembering the fallen from the First World War. The 21 names of the fallen from the Second World War are listed on a stone plaque mounted on the steps, on the same orientation as the main inscription.

HISTORY: The memorial was constructed to commemorate the fallen servicemen of the parish in 1920 following the instruction of a Miss Humblecrost and cost £391 10s.

REASONS FOR DESIGNATION: Waldron War Memorial is designated at Grade II, for the following principal reasons:
* A carefully executed Gothic Revivial wayside cross, of Forest of Dean stone
* Of strong historical significance for showing the tragic impact of world events on this community.
