Doddington Cottages

2 houses. Dated 1836. Stock brick with stucco dressings and
slate roof. Pair of semi-detached villas with plaque reading
'Doddington Cottages, 1836' in pediment.
2 storeys over basement. The pediment, which spans the central
projecting block of both houses, is supported by Doric
pilasters carrying a broad entablature; entrance bays in
recessed sections to either side.
The openings of each house are as follows: 1st floor, one 8x8
sash window to centre and one 6x6 sash to side; ground floor,
one 8x8 sash window to centre, with 4-panel door to the side;
basement, one late C20 window to centre. All the windows are
flat-arched and, with the exception of the basement, the
glazing is authentic. Although the doors are C20 replacements,
the semicircular fanlights above them are authentic and No.326
retains its original doorcase.
