GV II

Rectory. c1830. Brick laid to Flemish bond with ashlar and
stucco dressings; hipped slate roof with 2 brick cross-axial
stacks to each return and stack to valley, all with plastered
bases. Greek Revival style. Double-depth, central staircase,
plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; symmetrical 5-window range. 1st floor
sill band, top painted brick frieze and boxed eaves. Entrance
in recessed porch with inset Doric columns, deep frieze and
cornice; architrave to 6-flush-panel door (2 panels glazed).
Windows have sills, and stucco wedge lintels over 8/8 sashes.
Right return similar: stone plinth with basement lights and
brick flat arches to windows. Left return similar: one blocked
window with smaller window inserted.
INTERIOR: not inspected, but noted as having stick-baluster
stair, panelled window shutters and marble fireplaces.
