Art school; now house. Dated 1894; C20 alteration. For Arthur Flower. Red brick with pantile roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and dormer attic; 1-window gabled front to street, with jettied upper storeys faced with decorative panels of framing incorporating arch and tension braces to each panel. Vernacular Revival style. To right is half- lazed door under 4-centred arch, to left 4-light casement: on first floor, one bowed 6-light mullioned window. Bressumer to first floor carved with strapwork; in the centre the inscription 'Southwold School of Industrial Art' of 1999, a faithful reproduction of that of 1894, which was removed c.1960. Attic bressumer also carved in relief and dated 1894. Gable finished with split scalloped bargeboards. High parapet walls at both sides mask flat topped dormers fitted with C20 casements. Windows except dormers are square latticed lights. INTERIOR: not inspected.
