Pair of semi-detached cottages, now one house. Late C18/early
C19, possibly 1775 by James Wyatt. Yellow stock brick. Hipped
slated roofs with projecting bracketed eaves and central
stacks. 2 windows each with 2 window wing with coach house
(now garage) on ground floor. Central bays bowed to full
height flanked by entrance bays with round-arched doorways
having patterned fanlights and panelled doors. Gauged red
brick flat arches to recessed sash and casement windows, some
with shutters. Western cottage with continuous cast-iron
balcony at 1st floor level. INTERIORS: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: western cottage has historical associations
with WE Gladstone.
