Keepers Cottage

II
Cottage, now house. Probably 1790's, for Francis Basset Lord de Dunstanville;
enlarged and altered. Coursed granite rubble with quoins, thatched roof. Square
plan (large addition to rear not of special interest). Single storey, in Picturesque
style; the front wall has a rectangular porch near the right-hand corner which
appears to be a C20 addition, with a glazed and panelled door and leaded
fenestration carried round, and hipped thatched roof, and a 2-light casement
window near the left corner, with horizontal glazing bars. The right-hand return
wall has a similar window to the left and a bow to the right, with a curved
window of 3 arched lights similarly glazed. Pyramidal roof with deep eaves and
apex chimney. Rear and interior not inspected. Similar in style to Eastern Lodge
and to South Lodge, South Tehidy (q.v.).
