5/5 Old Mill Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Probably C18. Painted rubble and cob, Wheat reed thatched roof with
gable end stacks and brick chimneys. Large external stack on left.
Plan: 2 room plan plus later C18 lean to on right end and C20 extension at rear.
The left-hand room is wider and deeper, perhaps for original stair, both original
rooms have large fireplaces.
Exterior: 2 storeys, Nearly symmetrical 3 window south front with doorway and
window over, slightly to right of middle. Wooden lintels over the openings. Single
storey lean-to at the right-hand end, C20 door and windows.
Interior: remodelled C20 but retaining original beams to right hand room, C19 beams
to left-hand room and original stone fireplaces. First floor and roof structure,not
inspected.
