the churchyard c 8 metres
south of the porch door
to the Church of St Mary
GV II
Lofty chest tomb. Early to mid C18. Sandstone. Flat top to moulded edge,
gadrooned quarter balusters, cartouches, at west end with a coat of arms carrying
3 heads over 3 short swords, to the south with winged cherubs. Inscriptions
generally not legible, but one date '176..'; a vigorous design, probably executed
early in the century. Lies immediately west of the path to the church entrance,
and south of the Kedgwin Hoskins monument (qv).
