Pair of marine villas. Mid to later C19, altered. Red brick in Flemish bond with sandstone dressings and slate roof. H-plan, each house double-fronted, with short projecting wings and long back extensions. Debased Gothic style.
Two-and-a-half storeys, 1:2+2:1 windows, symmetrical; with a moulded eaves cornice carried round the wings as a band, and gable copings with kneelers. Each has a gabled porch in the angle with the wing, with a two-centred arched doorway which has a chamfered surround and a hoodmould with block stops, and emphatic gable coping with kneelers. The main range has square windows with deep chamfered surrounds, and hoodmoulds (the two at ground floor larger and linked by a band); the wings have stone two storey canted bay windows, and attic windows interrupting the band. Large ridge chimney stack at junction.
Forms group with No.7 to left (q.v.) and No.9 to the right (q.v.), and is part of a noteworthy mid C19 seaside development of villas and boarding houses.
