Villa. c1840, reputedly a remodelling of earlier house.
Colourwashed brick, Welsh slated hipped roof with broad
panelled eaves soffit, cast-iron verandahs. Central entrance
with 3-bay south elevation.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey front 3-storey rear. South elevation has
full width verandah ground and first floors, slender cast-iron
columns and storey beams, 5 bays, first floor with pierced
segmental arcade heads, Gothic railings with interlaced ogee
heads and quatrefoils, arcaded glazed panels at sides on
ground floor.
Main elevation of building recessed, subdivided into 3 bays by
shallow pilaster strips. First floor has tall plain glazed
sash windows left and right and tall French windows with
12-panes in centre. Ground floor with 2 segmental bow windows,
each with 2 plain glazed sashes, and central 2 fold 4-panel
door, upper 2 glazed beneath semicircular fanlight with
radiating tracery with slim pilaster and surround. Stone paved
verandah and 2 stone steps. Projecting single storeyed
polygonal bay window at right, with 3 sashes and low pitched
Welsh slated roof with lead roll hips.
Subsidiary elevations have irregular fenestration, with a plat
band on the west at first-floor level indicating the
possibility of comprehensive remodelling of an earlier
building on the site.
