Wool Wall. Early C19. Rubble sandstone masonry wall of drystone construction. Approx. 50 metres long and 1.7 metres high, aligned north-west/south-east, with near vertical north-east face and sloping, stepped south-west face. Unshaped coping stones, laid on edge. Wool walls were associated with the domestic production of woollen cloth, and were used for the drying of scoured or dyed Wool and scoured cloth.
