30/10/89 Meanwood Institute and attached wall

GV II

Village institute. c1840. Built for William or Christopher
Beckett. Coursed gritstone rubble and brick, slate roof, and 2
gable stacks. Single storey, 3-bay S front with projecting
central gabled porch with double panel doors. Either side a
single 3-light mullion and transom window with a Tudor
hoodmould.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Low round topped stone wall adjoins the building and runs
around the site.
