House, now offices. C17, refronted C18, modern flat-roofed
rear extension, early 1970s. Possibly originally of one build
with Nos 2 and 2A (qv). Timber-framed, stucco facing with
masonry lining, old tile roof with 2 box casement dormers,
wood cornice. 2 storeys and attics, 2 first floor sash
windows, in shallow recesses, with glazing bars, one on ground
floor. 2 doors, each with cut bracketed hood with dentilled
cornice - right hand hood appears to be a modern reproduction.
6 fielded panel doors, with raised surrounds - left hand door
has top 2 panels glazed. Both have architrave surrounds.
INTERIOR: altered, moulded beams exposed ground and first
floors, and roof with heavy rafters and side purlins indicate
C17 origins. Carriageway to No.6 at left. Rear extension not
of special interest.
