GV II

House. Early C18 or earlier refenestrated in C19. Built of
coursed ironstone rubble with slate roof. 2 storeys and attics
4 windows. Right side gable end with kneelers. Left side
adjoins Yafford House (q.v.). Attic has 3 hipped dormers with
C19 casements. 1st floor has 4 C19 casements in stone
surrounds. Ground floor has 3 triple C19 casements in C18
stone surrounds with keystones. Left side has double C18
12-pane sash with central keystone. Modern door in C18
surround with keystone. Deep plinth. Over third ground floor
window from left is the datestone with the initials I G I
(probably John & James Gommies) flanked by Tudor roses and the
date 1709. Interior has C18 round-headed wooden cupboard with
keystone.
