Chest tomb. Dated 1790 in memory of George Cook. Limestone ashlar. Chest tomb
with low ridged and soffit-moulded lid and standing on a moulded plinth. There are
large vase-like pilasters square in section inset into the corners and the long
sides contain fielded panels with bead-moulded surrounds. Both panels are inscribed
with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. The north-facing panel records the
death of George Cook in 1790 and the south-facing panel records the deaths of some
of his relatives although here the inscription is very worn.
