GV II

Town house. 1761 inscription, partly rebuilt 1931 following a
fire. Brick laid in stretcher bond to front with segmental
arches, otherwise rubble; steep rag slate roof. Double-depth
plan plus later wing at rear left. 2 storeys over basement;
4-window range. Twelve-pane hornless sashes with thick glazing
bars; pedimented doorway on the left with pilasters and
consoles and 6-panel door with 4 glazed top panels. Rear has
many original sashes. INTERIOR has original dog-leg staircase
with turned balusters over a closed string. Other features
including panelled doors are later or 1931.
