Farmhouse. C17 origins, enlarged and altered in C18 and C19, with some later
alterations. Slatestone and granite rubble. 2-span rag slate roof with ridge tiles
and gable ends. Gable end stacks with rubble shafts.
Plan: 2-room plan, each groom heated from a gable end stack. Probably in C18 an
unheated dairy was added to rear left, and later in the C19, an addition of one-room
plan was added to the right end, and a one-room plan addition to rear right, forming
a 2-span roof.
Exterior: The first range is 2-storey, a symmetrical 3-window front; all windows are
2-light 8-pane casements with L hinges. Off centre to left are C20 glazed double
doors. Straight joint to right, to the addition, also 2-storey, with C19 16-pane
sash at ground and first floor. The left side has a blind gable end. The dairy is
to left, of single storey with apple loft over, with a small 2-pane window at ground
floor and 2-light 3-pane casement to the loft. The right side has 4-panelled door to
left; the rear range has C19 4-pane sash at ground and first floor and chimney off-
centre to right. Lean-to to right of single storey with loft over, with 2-light
casement at upper level. At the rear, the former dairy has 2-light casement at
ground floor and two 2-light casements under the eaves; C20 casement, formerly a
door, to right. To left the addition has 2-light casement to rear, and a stable door
at the inner side, 2-light casement above.
Interior: The 2 rooms in the original building are now one, with a fireplace at each
gable end. Site of original stair not clear.
