TL 05NE THURLEIGH CROSS END

Farmhouse. C17 origins with C19 alterations. Timber framed, partly replaced
in brick, mostly plastered and coloured washed. Old clay tile roof. T-plan,
front block of 2 storeys and attics, rear block partly 2-storeyed (raised
1841) and one storey and attics beyond. Front elevation : ground floor has
one fixed light with glazing bars, a C19 canted bay, and a part glazed door to
RH. First floor has 2 2-light casements with glazing bars. Central red brick
ridge stack serving back-to-back partly timber framed fireplace. W elevation
: retains several 2-light horizontal sashes with glazing bars, with gabled
dormer with leaded lights to lower block.
