GV II

Large detached house. C17, C19 and C20. Refaced in painted brick
late C19-early C20, blue lias plinth, red tile roof, brick stacks.
Rectangular main body, wing extending back rear right rebuilt late
C19-early C20. C19 extension to left gable-end of main body. C19
and C20 extensions at rear of main body not of special interest.
Two storeys and attic, cellar at right-hand end. Attic lit by two
triangular C20 roof dormers with 2-light casements. Ground and
first floors lit by 2, 3 and 4-light stone-mullioned casements with
transoms and stopped hoods. Single light window off-centre left.
C19 four-panelled door with marginal lights either side off-centre
right within late C19-early C20 portico with Doric columns. House
formerly known as Corse Court. Occupied by the Lords of the Manor
in C16 and early Cl7 (q.v. monuments inside Tirley church).
