House, probably late C18 exterior and earlier interior. Of irregular
bond brown brick with grey slate roof. Cellar and 2 storeys; 3
windows. Part plinth of painted bedrock. Small cellar door. Flight
of 6 steps parallel with front, now concrete, to door of 4 panels, the
lower 2 flush and reeded, in wood case with flat hood on consoles.
6-pane C19 (?) replaced casements in narrow openings under cambered
heads. Cornice of 5 corbelled courses. Plain flush verges. Chimney
at rear left corner. Part of stone retaining wall to small front
garden survives.
Interior. Stone-cut cellar, 2-panel oak door of late C17/early C18
type to right parlour. Corner fireplace in left parlour. Stair has
shaped splat balusters of late C17 type to 2nd storey landing.
Partition-wall in attic contains oak truss, with tie-beam close to
floor level and steep-pitched. The house was evidently raised in
height and refaced late C18.
