6/45 South Common Farmhouse
G.V. II
Farmhouse. Early C19 refronting of possibly earlier building, with later
alterations and additions. Rubble, rendered, plain tiled roof with brick
ridge and gable stacks. L-plan formed by wing to front left, ridge stack to
left possibly at former gable end. 2 storeys and 3 windows, all 16-pane
sashes, central C20 glazed double door in segmental headed opening, lower
2-storey wing to left has 16-pane sash at ground floor to inner side, 3-light
casement at first floor in gable end, external stack, main range to left of
wing has first floor C20 plate-glass window. Rear has two 16-pane sashes and
plate-glass window at first floor, ground floor has 2 plate-glass windows and
studded door with fanlight with splayed glazing bars, door to right; single
storey flat-roofed C20 addition to left with plate-glass windows and attached
single storey outhouse with door and multi-pane casement. Interior: not
inspected.
