About mid C19, some later alterations. Comprising a long central range with
advanced side wings enclosing 3 sides of farmyard. Mainly red brick with some
pattern work and window heads in blued headers, plain tile roofs, single-storey.
The main barn has an impressive sweep of roof and large gabled entrance porch
with wide semi-circular archway, pigeon holes in gable face, wrought-iron
windvane at apex; the rear archway has an elliptical head, The main roof
structure as seen from inside the porch is of tie and collar beam construction
with 2 vertical trusses on the queen post principle. The frontage has modern
concrete additions and in-fillings each side of the central porch. The right-hand
wing is entirely of brick with a central gable, 4 casement windows in round-headed
openings, 2 plain doors, cambered head hoist opening in gable face. The left-hand
wing has a similar gable but with weather-boarded face and the ground floor has
open bays separated by square section piers.
