Early C18 house. Red brick with tiled hipped roof. Moulded brick eaves with dentil
blocks. 2 storeys and attic. 3 windows. Double hung sashes with thick glazing
bars, flat brick arches with enriched keyblocks end bull-nose cills. Central doorway
with elaborate rusticated (Gibbs) surround with radiating keyblocks and pediment
containing miniature fanlight, and moulded fielded-panel door. 2 hipped attic
dormers with cornices. Brick corner pilasters rising to chimney. Right hand return
elevation 3 similar windows. Large wing at rear, brick faced with 4 sash windows
with glazing bars, timber framing exposed in the gable end.

The Town Council Offices, No 3, Public Lavatories, Weavers Cottage, Prince of Wales Inn, the Old Grammar and Magistrates' House form a group.
