Burbage House (Formerly
listed as "Lodges and
Gatepiers at Burbage
House")

GV II

Lodge. Early to mid-C19. Stuccoed, and roofed with alternate bands of
plain tiles and beaver-tail tiles; ornamental ridge crestings and
scalloped and pierced barge boards. Central stack at junction between
main ridge and higher ridge of projecting gabled crosswing to left.
One storey with attic in crosswing. One window under gable and 2
windows on ground floor; segmental pointed arch windows with Y-glazing
and hood moulds, except small canted bay with hipped pentice tiled
roof and mullioned and transomed glazing on ground floor of crosswing.
Lozenge leaded glazing. Gabled stuccoed porch on left hand return with
pointed doorway and ridge cresting. One of a pair of lodges flanking
the driveway to Burbage House (demolished).
